Way back in 1989 when I served as Media/Youth Coordinator at PRIDE (Parents Resource Institute for Drug Education)/Belize, I spearheaded this public education video project to showcase the talents of Belizean youth while they shared a positive message. Those were the days when video production was still in its infancy stage in Belize.

A number of youths were auditioned for this project. The result was this video showcasing this amazingly brilliant talent of a young Belizean woman – Neulin Nelson (now Dr. Neulin Nelson-Villanueva), then a young junior college student from SJCJC. To record this song, she was sent to a professional recording studio in the U.S. Tropic Air provided some sponsorship for a group of youths to fly from Belize City to San Pedro for the recording at Ramon’s Village. With funding provided by USAID, this video was a result of great collaborative efforts that I am proud to have been a part of. Of course, with age the video quality is a bit compromised but it still provides a valuable trip down memory lane. Great job Neulin and team.
